This isn’t welcome news for beginners, or even for some intermediate Excel users, so it’s great to know that with Excel 365 there is now a simple function that takes care of that. You would either have to create a pivot table or a complex array formula from a series of nested functions. If you’ve ever wanted to count the number of unique values in an Excel range, you’ll know that there was really no easy way to do it.
